Custom Made Gris-Gris Bags

Deeply rooted in the traditions of Voodoo and Hoodoo, the creation of gris-gris has been practiced for more than 200 years. By their very nature, these powerful charms are a complete religiomagickal system unto themselves, and they can be crafted for virtually any purpose imaginable.

What truly sets gris-gris apart from other magical tools is that they’re considered to be alive. As such, they must be treated with care and respect, and like any other living entity, they require regular feeding to maintain their spiritual energy and alignment with your intention.

Make no mistake, these are not mere tokens, they are intricate and intimate systems of magic, all bound together by will and the breath of life.

My gris-gris bags are made using flannel cloth and the color depends on the purpose, but if you prefer a specific color, please include your color preference.

Each of my mojo bags are sewn by hand and meticulously created through ritual.

While the terms mojo and gris-gris are often used interchangeably, they do have subtle differences.

• Mojos are small bags filled with carefully selected items such as roots, herbs, trinkets, or bones, each chosen for its magical properties and charged with power and intention. These personal charms aid in manifesting desires such as love, prosperity, protection, and spiritual or personal growth. Because they are deeply personal items, mojo bags should never be exposed to, or touched by, others. To do so may disturb the spirit within, or worse, undo what has been set in motion. For this reason, they are kept hidden - slipped into coat linings, tucked into pockets or pinned to the inside of clothing (Each mojo bag comes with a safety pin for your convenience.)
• Gris-gris, like mojos, can be fashioned into powerful bags filled with roots, charms, and curios, each one charged with purpose and intent, however, what sets gris-gris apart is its broader range of forms and applications. Beyond pouches and bags, gris-gris can take the shape of amulets, jewelry, dolls, powders, spiritual waters, baths, tonics, and more. 
  Like a mojo, you should never allow another person to touch your gris-gris. That being said, depending on its purpose, gris-gris doesn’t always need to be hidden from view. While some are meant to be tucked away in secret - hidden discreetly in a pocket, a closet or drawer - others may be displayed in plain sight - placed on altars, tucked into specific corners of your home, near doorways, in an office, or kept in a vehicle. Powders can be sprinkled in strategic locations such as doorways, walkways or thresholds, jewelry worn as discreet spells or charms, and waters used for ritual baths, or floor washes. However, no matter what shape it takes, gris-gris, like a mojo, is a living charm, a vessel of will, working its magic in the world beside you.
