Ogun:

Considered to be one of the oldest Orisha, as well as the first to descend to earth, Ogun is known as the god of energy, creativity, war, hunting, and invention.

Ogun is the patron of blacksmiths, butchers, doctors, and barbers and he holds dominion over any occupation that uses knives, blades, or iron tools. He is described as rigid and strong, much like the metals he presides over, and he is the Orisha of truth and justice.

In addition, Ogun has become a symbol of resistance and resilience, especially in African and African American culture, representing the strength, courage, and determination that have allowed African peoples to survive and thrive in the face of adversity.

He embodies the spirit of the warrior, fighting against injustice and oppression and his association with iron and metalwork represents the transformative power of resilience, turning challenges and adversity into strength and growth.

Ogun is a powerful source of inspiration and empowerment, especially for anyone seeking to resist oppression and claim their rights as free and equal citizens, and his importance as a symbol of resistance and resilience reflects his enduring relevance and power as a deity and a cultural icon.
